Turquoise Mountain Has Erupted!
Ladies and Gentlemen, let us take this time to introduce
Rainbow Quartz's new imprint, Turquoise Mountain
Records. The new label's goal is to cater to the
many music enthusiasts who've searched high and
low for "Cosmic American Music". The sound
that's become synonymous with it's founding fathers,
Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan, Michael Nesmith and the
Byrds.
But it will not stop there!
This is not your average "Alt-Country"
or "Americana" label. TQM, like its predecessor,
looks for acts with a bit of an edge to their music.
Acts that have the ability or open-mindness to incorporate
several styles and sounds. It will serve you the
creations of bands that have taken the trip down
a gravel path, only to realize that the country
is much more psychedelic place than any of us could
have ever imagined.
The first band that's decided to take this voyage
is no other than Rainbow Quartz's psych-popsters,
the Asteroid No.4. Their third full-length effort
"Honeyspot" has just been released on
July 29th, 2003. The band admits they've always
had an admiration and fondness for classic country,
blues and folk, which makes up most, if not all
of the ingredients for great rock'n'roll. The band
hopes you enjoy their new effort, as well as their
new digs, Turquoise Mountain. |
