The Morning After Girls hailing from Melbourne Australia have managed to set
the musical world on fire, melting pieces of The Jesus & Mary Chain, Primal
Scream, The Psychedelic Furs, The Pixies and My Bloody Valentine into their own
controlled sound. The Morning After Girls present a very chaotic and mysterious
world of pop rock and are akin feel to label mates Outrageous Cherry and the
venerable Brain Jonestown Massacre. While the bands twin guitar attack and wall
of sound tapestry are gorgeously interwoven, the band itself looks even better;
having all the sexiness and GQ good looks to render them NME poster band
status.
This 5 piece rocked SXSW this year in Austin and created a huge stir among
many on just what this band can do; their live show is powerful with a wall of
well-controlled noise.
With opening slots for BJM, The Warlocks and The Dandy Warhols, the stage has
been set on The Morning After Girls and with a solid and well-anticipated CMJ
appearance this September, we could see this band up over the top.

The morning After Girls get "pick of the week" by NYC's Metro Newspaper:
"After playing raw rock 'n roll while opening for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club at an oversized Webster Hall, check out these Aussies performing at the intimate after party, where Ultragrrrl will be spinning and a few "very special guests" are also slated to make an appearance" |
